For you are a miracle in my life...

本來我的部落格有一些觀眾的，自從開學以來我忙的不可開交，陸陸續續有人反應說：江某，你的部落格已經整個當機了。然後，這個情況還不改善一下，漸漸的已經乾枯，然後當了放羊的孩子太久，獵人也再不管放羊的孩子和他的羊群了。為了聊表心意，我就來更新一下我的狀態，說說我最近的故事。

Dear Prof. Liu,

It has been more than one month since the class started. Seriously I got no time to write to you. I am pretty busy on lots of homework and paper reading. Yesterday, I just turned in my ME218 midterm answer sheets. So, take a break to mail you. Hope everything goes well in our lab.

After English Placement Test held in the very beginning of this quarter, I was asked to take so many English classes. So, I take Listening Comprehension, Intro. to M/NEMS (by Prof. Beth Pruitt), and ME218a Smart Product Design Fundamental in this quarter. Now I understand why you don't recommend me to take ME218. It is very time consuming, a lot of hands-on trainings though. My weekly class schedule looks like it is easy at first glance but indeed it is not that "easy" as it appears. The loading from each class is totally incompatible with that in Taiwan. Simply 10 units can drive you crazy here. :P

As for research, which might be what you interest most, Prof. Kenny recently started a new project regarding to energy scavenging funded by VW Audi at Palo Alto. We have three people in this project: one fourth-year PhD student, a second-year master student (Shingo), and me. This project could be my and Shingo's focus. It is a side project for the senior. We aim at system development and structure optimization in energy scavenging devices particularly for vehicle applications. Since the project just started, we are currently working on literature study. There shall be a meeting with VW Audi guys in the coming week, in which we plan to know more design constrains and specs.

I like my life here even though quite busy and feel time limited all the time. One thing I truly feel frustrated is the poor interactions with my classmates. Language barrier and personality hinder me from doing well. Well, somehow I can make it.
